Preventitive Dentistry

Restorative Dentistry is basic repair of the mouth. We mend broken or leaking fillings, build crowns and bridges, fit partial and full dentures, realign your bite. Where necessary, gum disease is treated, or root canal therapy is recommended. The prevailing belief behind restorative dentistry is a simple one: "You can keep all your teeth for all your life."

"White" Fillings
Composites have the obvious cosmetic benefit of closely matching the color of the original tooth. Beyond that, composites get as close as we have ever been able to restore the tooth to its original strength in the most conservative fashion. The composites are a very hard "plastic" that bonds to the tooth to hold the tooth together. Unlike amalgams ("silver" fillings), composites do not expand and contract with hot, cold and biting. Therefore, they do not weaken with every meal over time, causing the tooth to become susceptible to fracturing. Composites also contain no mercury, which is a very toxic element.

Dental Implants
Dental implants are the latest innovation in restorative dentistry. They can replace your missing teeth or be used to attach full or partial dentures. A thorough evaluation is necessary to determine if you would be a good candidate for dental implants.

Dentures
Dentures are another alternative to replace missing teeth. If you are not a good candidate for dental implants this would be the best way to restore missing teeth and realign your bit. Depending on the number of teeth you are missing a full or partial denture will be necessary.
